For a preview. here are my top ten moments in Rockets, Texans and Astros history
1. 1994: Rockets win first NBA championship, defeating the New York Knicks in Game 7 of the NBA finals.
2. 1995: Mario Ellie's kiss of death: Rockets finish off Suns in Western Conference Finals after trailing the series 3-1, capped on a deep corner three-point shot by Mario Ellie. The Rockets would go on to sweep Orlando in the NBA finals for back-to-back championships.
3. 2005: Astros clinch NLDS on a Chris Burke walkoff homerun in the 18th inning against the Braves. Houston trailed 6-1 in the 8th inning and 6-5 with two outs in the 9th inning.
4. 2005: Astros clinch NLCS against Cardinals for first ever trip to World Series.
5. 1986: Ralph Sampson hits tip-shot as time expires to send Rockets to NBA finals.
6. 2002: Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys on national TV in the first game of the franchise
7. 1986: Mike Scott clinches National League West Divison for the Astros on the final day of the season with a no-hitter
8. 1995: Kenny Smith sends Game 1of the NBA finals to overtime on a leaning three-point shot as time expires.
9: 2004: Tracy McGrady scores 13 points in 35 seconds, including the game winning three pointer with less than two seconds left, as the Rockets come back to shock the Spurs.
10. 2007: Rockets go on a 22-game winning streak, the second longest in NBA history.
